Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, visited the Republic of Mauritius from July 16 to 17, 2024, where he proposed capacity building programs for Mauritius Civil Service Officers at India’s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG).

Following this proposal, a bilateral meeting took place on August 6, 2024, between the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) of India and the Ministry of Public Service of Mauritius. The Indian delegation was led by Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary of DARPG, while the Mauritius delegation was headed by Secretary of Public Service Mr. K. Conhye.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in personnel management and governance, with discussions centering on capacity building initiatives at NCGG. Key areas of collaboration include sharing good governance practices, exchanging information on personnel management, and organizing training programs for Mauritian civil servants.

The Indian delegation highlighted India’s progress in governance through various initiatives such as CPGRAMS reforms, National e-Services Delivery Assessment, and digital transformation efforts. The NCGG was presented as a significant institution for capacity building in international civil service.

Mauritius expressed interest in incorporating AI/ML technologies in grievance redressal through CPGRAMS. A senior-level delegation from Mauritius is expected to visit India in September 2024 to advance these collaborative efforts and explore further opportunities for strengthening ties.
