North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the delivery of a new tactical ballistic missile system to troops on Sunday, state media KCNA reported on Monday.

At a ceremonial event in Pyongyang, Kim unveiled 250 new tactical ballistic missile launchers, described by state media as powerful, up-to-date tactical attack weapons designed by Kim himself. These launchers are now ready to be transferred to KPA units.

The term 'KPA' stands for the Korean People's Army, which constitutes North Korea's military forces. Last month, the country test-fired its new tactical ballistic missile.

In his speech, Kim announced that Pyongyang will enhance its nuclear readiness shortly to deter nuclear threats and safeguard against any challenges. He reiterated that improving and stockpiling nuclear weapons is essential to counter perceived threats and pressure from the United States.

Kim concluded by asserting that peace is ensured by North Korea's 'absolute and matchless self-defence capability,' according to KCNA.
