Tragic Wall Collapse in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar District Claims Lives of Nine Children
Nine children were killed and two others injured after a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed during a religious event in Shahpur, Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. In a heartbreaking incident, nine children lost their lives and two others sustained injuries when a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed during a religious program in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district on Sunday morning.
The collapse occurred between 8:30 and 9 AM near a temple in Shahpur village. Authorities report that the children, aged 10 to 15, were part of a program to make Shivlings out of clay when the tragedy struck.
Responding to the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav suspended the Shahpur Nagar Panchayat's chief municipal officer and a sub-engineer. He also mandated statewide identification and remediation of unsafe buildings to avert further such tragedies.
