Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday to report the extensive damage caused by recent cloudbursts and floods in Shimla, Kullu, and Mandi districts. Thakur informed that PM Modi assured comprehensive support for relief efforts.

Moreover, the Prime Minister advised BJP workers to actively participate in the relief operations, a point reiterated by BJP leader Thakur in a statement issued locally. In addition to PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J P Nadda also assured Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of their full support.

State BJP president Rajiv Bindal, who formed a team to assess the flood-ravaged zones, visited Rampur and planned visits to Kullu and Mandi. With the aid of drones, rescuers are striving to locate approximately 45 people still reported missing following the flash floods in the three districts. Tragically, the death toll has reached eight.
