MCD Cracks Down on Coaching Centers Post Tragic Incident with Multiple Seals
The MCD has sealed numerous basements of coaching centers across Delhi following the death of three UPSC aspirants. Since Sunday, 29 basements have faced action for operating in violation of building by-laws. Additionally, inspections for mosquito breeding were conducted in the old Rajender Nagar area where the incident occurred.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) escalated its crackdown on coaching centers by sealing seven more basements in Central Delhi's Old Rajendra Nagar on Tuesday. An additional three centers were shut down in North West Delhi and East Delhi.
This action follows the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants in a flooded basement of the Rau's IAS Study Circle on Saturday. Since Sunday, the MCD has closed 29 basements for violating building by-laws.
Among those sealed in Rajinder Nagar were IAS Gurukul Tathastu, Officers IAS Academy, Forum IAS, Psyche World IAS, Sanchetna IAS, Prisha IAS, Path Academy, and Drishti IAS. The MCD's public health department also checked 78 paying guest accommodations and 13 guest houses for mosquito breeding in the vicinity.
