British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for immediate steps toward a ceasefire in Israel's conflict with Hamas militants during a meeting with Israel's President Isaac Herzog in Paris. The meeting, held on the fringes of the Olympics, saw Starmer emphasize the urgent need for humanitarian aid to reach those in desperate need and for hostages to be released.

Starmer's office issued a statement highlighting the Prime Minister's stance. "The Prime Minister said there must be immediate steps towards a ceasefire, so that hostages can be released and more humanitarian aid can get in for those in desperate need," the statement read.
