Pakistan's law enforcement agencies have apprehended 38 suspected terrorists in Punjab province, most of them linked to the Islamic State (IS) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to a police statement on Saturday.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police revealed that more than 2,500 combing operations were executed last week, leading to the arrests in Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur.

The detained individuals include high-profile suspects such as Fahim, Waheed, Saud, Tahir, Subhan, Shahid, Umar Ayaz, and Rahman Gul, who are associated with ISIS and TTP. The banned TTP group seeks to enforce Sharia law across Pakistan.

Officials recovered explosives, one hand grenade, 29 detonators, 50 feet of fuse wire, weapons, and bullets from the suspects. They have been relocated to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
