Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat on Thursday alleged he did not receive assistance from the protocol officer at Delhi airport to catch his flight to Dehradun on Tuesday.

According to Rawat, the protocol officer stated he lacked orders to provide help. However, Rawat received assistance from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) present at the airport to catch his flight.

Expressing his grievances on social media, the Congress leader pointed out that protocol officers usually help former chief ministers and ministers. Rawat stated that he got delayed due to last-minute meetings and required the protocol officer's assistance.

Rawat added that despite his precedence as a former chief minister, he does not receive the escort facilities that other leaders do, particularly during traffic jams. State BJP general secretary Suresh Joshi commented that the CRPF, also a government agency, did assist Rawat. He suggested the protocol officer might not have been available at that moment but emphasized the crucial point that CRPF's help allowed Rawat to catch his flight.
