The Centre has instructed Pune police to investigate the marital status of IAS probationer Puja Khedkar's parents amid suspicions that she deceitfully claimed OBC non-creamy layer benefits in the UPSC exam, an official stated.
Khedkar stands accused of abusing her power and privileges, demanding perks and facilities she wasn't entitled to during her training in Pune district collectorate, Maharashtra. She allegedly bullied others and used a red-blue beacon on a private luxury sedan misrepresenting it as a government vehicle.
A criminal case has been registered against her for falsifying facts, and the UPSC has issued a show-cause notice considering the cancellation of her 2022 exam candidature and barring her from future tests.
