Health Minister Vili Baros confirmed the casualties and expressed his horror at the incident on N1 TV. Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic shared his condolences and outrage on platform X, condemning the act that occurred in the Daruvar nursing home.
The assailant, identified as a former war veteran born in 1973, targeted his own mother and four others inside the nursing home. After initially fleeing the crime scene, he was later apprehended by law enforcement, according to the N1 news portal. In a statement, local police emphasized that an investigation is ongoing but did not provide further details.
