Congress Pushes Key Issues for Budget Session at All-Party Meet

During an all-party meeting convened ahead of the Budget session of Parliament, the Congress pushed for a comprehensive discussion on several critical issues, including the NEET 'scam,' internal security situations in Jammu and Manipur, and environmental concerns related to deforestation and pollution. The meeting was chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Congress' deputy leader in Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, represented the party and presented a list of topics that require parliamentary debate. These topics also encompassed UPSC controversies, railway safety, and the Agniveer scheme. Internal governance and Centre-state relations were also highlighted as priority issues.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that deliberate attempts at polarisation, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, and China border challenges were also flagged. Additionally, there was a unified call for the reactivation of the Central Hall in Parliament for better communication among MPs and the revival of important standing committees.
