Security Tightened for Upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections Amid Ongoing Challenges

AMID SECURITY concerns, the Ministry of Home Affairs will provide necessary measures for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, according to PK Pole, Chief Electoral Officer of the Union Territory.
"Given the region's longstanding security challenges, detailed arrangements have been made," Pole stated, noting efforts to safeguard candidates, political parties, officials, and strong rooms.
Additional security has been allocated to areas with increased anti-national activities, and Village Defence Committees have been activated. The Assembly elections will occur in three phases, starting September 18, with results announced on October 4.
