Amid the controversy surrounding probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, former LBSNAA chief Sanjeev Chopra on Wednesday called for strict actions against officials found using fake caste and disability certificates to join civil services. Chopra emphasized that those guilty should not only be dismissed but also have their training cost and salary recovered.

Puja Khedkar's misuse of power and privileges has ignited social media debates, with users sharing names and details of IAS and IPS officers accused of using fraudulent certificates to claim benefits meant for OBC (non-creamy layer) and EWS categories.

Chopra stated, "This is a serious issue within the system, depriving deserving candidates and involving willing criminal conspiracy. Apart from dismissal and salary recovery, they must serve their sentence as per law to send a clear signal." He also stressed the need for deeper investigations into those aiding this misconduct.
