A full court farewell reference was on Tuesday held at the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh to bid farewell to Justice N Kotiswar Singh, following his appointment as a Supreme Court Judge.

Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh, has become the first judge from Manipur to have been appointed to the top court. Advocate General D C Raina, in his farewell address, described Justice Singh as a gentleman par excellence and lauded His Lordship for his dedication and commitment to his professional responsibilities.

Raina emphasized that Justice Singh won the hearts of everyone in Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh with his polite conduct and behavior. His quality of making the courtroom environment comfortable enabled lawyers to present their cases effectively. Justice Singh, in his address, thanked everyone for their unwavering professional commitment and support during his tenure.

He acknowledged that no judge can dispense true justice without the cooperation of the Bar, noting that the Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh High Court is full of enthusiastic young lawyers. Singh encouraged these young lawyers to be patient and work hard for success in their noble profession. He also praised their legal knowledge and aptitude, expressing his gratitude for the warmth and affection shown to him.
