Punjab Police successfully dismantled an interstate weapon smuggling network on Tuesday with the arrest of three individuals, according to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav.

The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) apprehended three arm smugglers in Amritsar, recovering three .32 bore pistols from their possession, as reported by DGP Yadav. This operation came a day after the police took down another weapon smuggling module linked to a Canada-based terrorist, Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, capturing two operatives and recovering six pistols.

The suspects arrested on Tuesday have been identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Mattu, Sahil Kumar alias Mast, both from Chhota Haripura in Amritsar, and Prabhjot Singh alias Prabh of Guru Nanak Pura in Amritsar. In addition to the pistols, police recovered three magazines and six live cartridges. DGP Yadav stated that the trio was apprehended in the Vallah area, where they were set to deliver the illegal consignment. Preliminary investigations reveal that two of the accused, Sukhdev and Sahil, have criminal records, including involvement in a murder case. Investigations are ongoing to trace the weapon dealer in Madhya Pradesh and the intended recipients of the consignment.
