A devastating fire broke out in the Handwara area of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, leaving seven houses and two cowsheds gutted, officials reported Sunday.
The blaze erupted late Saturday night in the Rajwar locality, rapidly spreading to nearby homes.
Despite efforts by fire and emergency personnel, supported by police, army, and locals, controlling the fire proved challenging. One person sustained injuries during the fire-fighting efforts, and seven cows also perished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said.
