Accountant's Tragic End: KESCO MD Accused of Intimidation

Tragedy struck the Kanpur Electricity Supply Corporation (KESCO) on Friday as a 56-year-old accountant named Vinay Kumar Mehrotra committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Cocacola crossing, according to the police.
The family of the deceased has accused KESCO Managing Director, Samuel Paul N, of intimidation, claiming it drove Mehrotra to take his own life. The MD strongly denied these allegations, stating that he generally deals with senior officials and rarely interacts with clerks and other staff.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shikar confirmed the suicide and said a field unit has been called in to gather scientific evidence. Despite the launch of an investigation, no FIR has been lodged. Meanwhile, the MD expressed his condolences to the family and acknowledged that Mehrotra had recently been transferred to the Pared power house, a move which had reportedly upset him.
