IPS officer A Koan, suspended last year for allegedly misbehaving with a woman tourist in Goa, has been reinstated by the government, officials confirmed on Friday.

Koan, a 2009 batch officer, was prohibited from leaving Goa without permission during his suspension period. He has now been transferred and posted in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The Union Home Ministry's inquiry and disciplinary proceedings found no corruption or criminal allegations against Koan. The President determined that continuing Koan's suspension was not in the public interest. Consequently, the Home Ministry revoked his suspension and reinstated him in service.

Subsequent to the reinstatement, another ministry order transferred Koan from Goa and posted him in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
