The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has revealed the shortlist for the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA 2024), spotlighting 46 candidates from 12 countries vying for 22 awards. This year's edition saw an impressive surge in participation, with 3,815 submissions—a remarkable 230 percent rise from the previous year.

This 11th edition of SGCA drew 1,129 entries from 44 countries, with the finalists competing across various categories. The awards span five main categories, covering nine awards for government entities, international organizations, and the private sector; four individual awards; two challenge and competition awards; four Jury Awards; and three Partner Awards. The selection was made by the SGCA Higher Committee, featuring experts from diverse media and communication fields. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on September 5 at Expo Centre Sharjah.

Among the shortlisted candidates are representatives from countries including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Singapore, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The submissions showcased outstanding quality and innovation, particularly highlighting the significant contributions of the private sector in communication practices. The award's global reach has expanded, attracting entries from numerous countries for the first time, a testament to its broad appeal and inclusiveness.

Since its inception, the SGCA has established itself as a premier platform recognizing and celebrating creativity and excellence in government communication. The award aims to inspire and advance the field, supporting sustainable development through effective communication.
