The Aam Aadmi Party has leveled serious allegations against central investigative agencies, accusing them of misleading the Supreme Court in the excise policy case related to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh outlined how, despite a trial court granting bail to Kejriwal, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought the intervention of the High Court to secure a stay on that bail. According to Singh, when it seemed Kejriwal would soon receive bail from the Supreme Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested him.

Highlighting what he termed the 'blatant misuse of investigating agencies,' Singh argued that both the ED and CBI lack sufficient evidence against Kejriwal and his former deputy, Manish Sisodia. The INDIA bloc intends to stage a protest in Parliament on Monday against this alleged misuse.

Singh further elaborated that during Sisodia's bail hearing, the Supreme Court criticized the ED for prolonging its investigation unnecessarily, despite promises to complete it within six to eight months. He added that the India bloc parties, meeting at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence, decided to collectively protest on Monday at 10:30 am against such practices.

Singh also noted that leaders from various parties, including those in West Bengal, and figures like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Akhilesh Yadav, have faced similar actions from the ED and CBI.
