Temple priest Radheshyam Giri (50) succumbed to the electrocution, while seven others sustained serious burns and are currently being treated at a medical college, Sharma noted.

In a separate incident, Rajnath Kushwaha (40) was struck by lightning while sowing paddy in his fields, leading to his immediate death.

District Magistrate Akhand Pratap Singh affirmed that the victims' families would receive government aid as per regulations.
