Two farmers lost their lives and two others sustained injuries on Sunday when a courier van collided with their tractor-trolley, local police reported.
Circle Officer Nilesh Mishra informed that the farmers, en route to Devchara market with a trailer full of chilli, met with the tragic accident outside Bhamora police station.
Following the collision, Rajveer (52) and Shishpal (65) were dislodged from the tractor-trolley, resulting in their immediate deaths under the wheels of the courier van. Meanwhile, Chaman Maurya and Jahoor Ahmed suffered severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
The courier van driver absconded, abandoning the vehicle at the scene. Police have initiated efforts to locate and apprehend him.
