Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has called for a CBI investigation into the alleged involvement of officials associated with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. Sinha announced on Friday that he would urge Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to recommend a high-level probe into the matter.
The Deputy CM revealed that officials connected to Tejashwi Yadav were in constant touch with the prime suspect, Sikander Prasad Yadvendu, and provided him with accommodations at multiple locations. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, which has already arrested 13 individuals in relation to the scandal, is currently investigating the case.
Sinha further questioned RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's silence on the issue and hinted that the accused had ties with RJD leaders even during Lalu Prasad's judicial custody in Ranchi. With nationwide protests over NEET irregularities and an upcoming Supreme Court hearing, the Deputy CM insists on a thorough CBI inquiry.
