The Correctional and Rehabilitation Policies Committee of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department convened recently to evaluate the impact of seven groundbreaking projects. Implemented in 2024, these initiatives aim to improve the functionality and effectiveness of correctional and rehabilitation centers throughout the emirate by leveraging cutting-edge digital solutions and technologies.

The meeting, led by Counsellor Youssef Saeed Al Abri, who serves as the Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, focused on reviewing these projects. The committee assessed how these initiatives have contributed to streamlined operational processes, the adoption of innovative management strategies, and enhancements to smart monitoring systems and alternative punishment measures. Al Abri stressed the alignment of these developments with directives from Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to foster innovation within the justice system.

These efforts are part of a broader initiative to position Abu Dhabi as a global leader in advanced justice systems grounded in human values and innovation. Al Abri highlighted the importance of monitoring performance indicators related to alternative punishments and strengthening partnerships with strategic collaborators. Such collaborations play a vital role in ensuring the successful rehabilitation and social reintegration of inmates into society, he noted.
