The General Women's Union (GWU), in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union and the UAE Cybersecurity Council, concluded an ambitious international training programme on women's empowerment in cybersecurity. Held in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the programme aimed to bolster the roles of women within the domains of cybersecurity governance and diplomacy.

The initiative, titled 'International Programme for Training Women Trainers in the Arab Region and the World', attracted participants from 22 countries, encompassing policymakers, professionals in peace and security, and technical experts eager to pivot to strategic operations in cybersecurity policy. The programme's curriculum included both theoretical knowledge and practical training, addressing the current landscape of cybersecurity threats, AI risks, national resilience strategies, and key aspects of cyber diplomacy.

Noura Al Suwaidi, GWU's Secretary-General, underscored the UAE's pioneering achievements in regional and global cybersecurity, emphasizing the strategic empowerment of women as vital for a digitally secure future. Mohammed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti, Chair of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, lauded the programme as a significant step forward, praising Sheikha Fatima for her substantial support in fostering women's roles in technology and governance.
