UAE Humanitarian Effort Collects 1100 Tonnes of Aid for Lebanon

Abu Dhabi, UAE—In a remarkable humanitarian endeavor, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, has spearheaded an aid collection drive at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This event, marking the second installment in two weeks as part of the 'UAE stands with Lebanon' campaign, amassed 150 tonnes of essential supplies for the people of Lebanon.
The undertaking saw active participation from 2,287 volunteers, drawn from diverse sectors of the community. Distinguished attendees included Sheikh Hamdan's children, alongside high-profile dignitaries such as Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications. The drive underscored the Emirati community's commitment to social solidarity and effective institutional coordination in addressing humanitarian crises.
The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's legacy of aiding those in need continues to inspire these efforts, as emphasized by Sheikh Hamdan. With the directive of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the campaign launched on October 8, 2024, is supervising 13 relief planes sent to Lebanon, carrying 560 tonnes of crucial aid, ensuring timely support, especially for women and children.
