The Joint Action Awami Committee in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir has slated a Long March on October 24. This demonstration is designed as a protest against the government's unfulfilled promises concerning a cheap electricity agreement, according to an announcement made by the committee.
Committee member Shaukat Nawaz Mir urged that the protesters' grievances were legitimate and unmet, despite government claims otherwise. He highlighted that the electricity tariffs remain unchanged, flour allocations have been reduced, and a previously agreed-upon charter of demands has been ignored.
Further, Shaukat criticized the leadership, suggesting a disconnect with the populace's concerns, urging them to prioritize basic rights and halt the exploitation of resources. He called on leaders to utilize their political mandate to address these foundational issues.
