The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has concluded the initial phase of its probe into an anti-state post from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan's X account, ARY News reports. Khan was questioned by a three-member FIA team as his legal team observed.
The FIA team visited Adiala Jail on Saturday to question the PTI founder concerning a tweet from his X account, previously known as Twitter, that was perceived as anti-state. Officials opened a formal investigation following public concern. Sub-Inspector Muneeb Ahmed, officer Anees, and Assistant Director Ayaz Khan composed the FIA squad, according to ARY News.
The PTI leader initially refused to meet the delegation, stating he would only participate in the inquiry with his legal representation present. This led the FIA to return to the jail the next day. The investigation aims to determine whether the post was made by Khan himself, or if the account was hacked or used by someone else.
Sources indicate that following the interrogation, further cases might be filed. Khan has stated that his intention was to discuss the elite's dominance in the country, not to criticize any specific organization or individual.
