Bombay High Court Urges Thorough Investigation in School Assault Case

The Bombay High Court has instructed the police to thoroughly investigate a sexual assault case involving two young girls at a school in Badlapur, Maharashtra, and avoid filing a charge sheet hastily under public pressure. The Court emphasized the importance of sensitizing boys and ensuring safety for all children, while also criticizing the investigation's documentation as insufficient.

The HC criticized the stereotypical manner in which the case diary was maintained, urging the SIT to ensure every investigative step is documented properly. Additionally, the Court called for a gender-neutral approach to safety in schools, recommending retired IPS officer Meeran Borwankar and a retired high court judge for a committee to examine the security measures.
