Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong paid tribute to CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Saturday. Feihong was seen offering flowers to Yechury, who passed away recently in the national capital, at the CPI(M) party office in Delhi. He also signed the visitor's diary.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Ambassador to India Adnan Abu Al-Haija also paid tribute to Yechury. Speaking to ANI, Al-Haija said, 'It is a very sad moment as we have lost a great supporter of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people. He struggled for the poor and always sought humanity. We participated in many events together supporting the Palestinian cause.'

Earlier, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal paid his last respects to Yechury, stating that people like him 'gave their lives for others.' Sibal elaborated, 'In this country, many politicians only think about their benefits and power. Sitaram Yechury dedicated his life to others, knowing he would never come to power. He was a dear friend who mesmerized the Parliament with his interventions.'

Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, along with leaders like Jairam Ramesh, Ajay Maken, and Rajeev Shukla, paid tributes at the CPI(M) office. Earlier, Union Minister and BJP national President JP Nadda paid floral tribute at Yechury's residence, commending his ability to maintain relationships despite differing views.

Yechury's mortal remains were taken to the party office from his residence in Vasant Kunj. He passed away on September 12 at AIIMS Hospital after suffering from a respiratory tract infection.
