The Peshawar High Court has granted a transit bail to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, ARY News reported on Thursday. The two-member bench approved his plea, directing authorities to refrain from arresting Gandapur in any registered cases against him.

Just a day earlier, an Islamabad Sessions Court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Gandapur in an arms and liquor recovery case dating back to 2016. Police had claimed to discover weapons and liquor in Gandapur's vehicle. The recent court hearing saw the judge deny Gandapur's request to be excused due to health reasons, leading to the issuance of the warrants, according to ARY News.

The session court judge, Shaista Khan Kundi, directed the SHO of Bhara Kahu police station to arrest Gandapur and present him before the court on September 5. Earlier, the District and Sessions Judge had summoned Gandapur while seeking answers to nine specific questions. Police recovered multiple weapons and liquor during an October 2016 search of Gandapur's vehicle at a check post on Rukhsana Bangash Road, as he headed to Imran Khan's residence in Bani Gala.
