Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba submitted his resignation letter on Wednesday, according to The Kyiv Independent, citing parliament speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. Stefanchuk mentioned that Kuleba's resignation will be considered at one of the upcoming plenary meetings, however, a date has not been specified.

"It is a major reshuffle that was anticipated for quite some time," lawmaker Oleksandr Merezhko told The Kyiv Independent. "We are facing challenging times ahead, with a difficult autumn and winter expected. This reshuffle might be connected to the new period of challenges for Ukraine."

Kuleba, who has served as Ukraine's Foreign Minister since 2020, played a crucial role during Ukraine's ongoing conflict with Russia, fostering international alliances. Sources had previously reported his potential dismissal, with Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha being a likely successor, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

Kuleba's resignation follows a series of high-profile ministerial resignations, including Strategic Industries Minister Alexander Kamyshin, Justice Minister Denys Maliuska, Ecology Minister Ruslan Strilets, and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna. The head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Vitalii Koval, also resigned after nine months in office.

The reasons behind these resignations are yet to be disclosed. The announcement comes amid months of speculation about a larger cabinet overhaul. President Zelenskyy had hinted in March about further government reorganization, following the dismissals of Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Alexander Kubrakov and Agriculture Minister Mykola Solskyi in May.
