The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) has declared a ten-day mourning period following the death of its central leader, Jameel Goro Sindhi. Goro succumbed to injuries on August 25 at a Karachi trauma center, days after an attack in Hyderabad, allegedly by individuals linked to Pakistani state agents, according to a JSFM statement.

JSFM Chairman Sohail Abro, along with central leaders Zubair Sindhi, Amar Azadi, Farhan Sindhi, Hafeez Deshi, Mark Sindhu, and Hoshu Sindhi, condemned the attack in a joint statement. They equated the killing to the assassination of Shafi Muhammad Karnani, framing both incidents as part of broader state-sponsored violence against Sindhi nationalists.

Jameel Goro Sindhi was a significant JSFM figure, known for his involvement in protests highlighting issues such as missing persons, forced conversions of Sindhi Hindu girls, Sindh unity, and Karoonjhar Mountain protection. His leadership, particularly during the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances on August 30 last year, had reportedly drawn the attention of state authorities, as outlined in the JSFM statement.

JSFM leaders have stated they know who is responsible for Goro's death but are withholding specific accusations to avoid jeopardizing national interests. They warned that shielding the perpetrators would lead to serious consequences. Chairman Abro has called upon all freedom-oriented organizations in Sindh to unite in seeking justice, urging them to file a murder case in Goro's name, asserting that the Sindhi nation values its martyrs.

The JSFM remains resolute in honoring Goro's memory and continuing their struggle for Sindhi rights. (ANI)
