Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy Friday for bilateral talks at Kyiv's Mariinskyi Palace. PM Modi warmly embraced Zelenskyy upon arrival and greeted Ukrainian delegates. Accompanying him were Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and NS Ajit Doval. Discussions included restricted and high-level meetings on key bilateral issues, resulting in document exchanges to formalize agreements.

Earlier at the Hyatt Hotel in Kyiv, PM Modi received a rousing welcome from the Indian community, including many students. In a social media post, Modi stated, 'Reached Kyiv earlier this morning. The Indian community accorded a very warm welcome.'

During his visit, PM Modi attended the multimedia Martyrologist exposition at the National Museum of History of Ukraine, honoring children lost in the conflict. Touched by the solemn exhibit, he placed a toy in their memory. Modi expressed condolences and prayed for grieving families.

Further, PM Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at a statue in Kyiv, emphasizing Gandhi's enduring message of peace. In a post, Modi said, 'Paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Kyiv. The ideals of Bapu are universal and give hope to millions.' He highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's relevance in addressing global challenges.
