On the fifth annual International Day of Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief, Campaign for Uyghur's Founder and Executive Director, Rushan Abbas, participated in a webinar titled 'Prisoners of Conscience: Violence and Detention and Violence in Detention.' During her address, Abbas provided a harrowing account of the Uyghur Genocide perpetrated by China in East Turkistan.

Abbas detailed how the CCP-controlled regime's actions have personally affected her, highlighting the case of her sister Gulshan Abbas, who has been unjustly imprisoned. She concluded with a plea for organizations and nations to unite and hold China accountable for these human rights abuses.

The United Nations General Assembly marked 22 August as the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief to acknowledge the need for support to victims and their families. The Campaign for Uyghur routinely organizes events to raise awareness and mobilize support against human rights abuses in Xinjiang. The organization employs strategies such as media outreach, legislative lobbying, and humanitarian support to advocate for Uyghur rights and international accountability.
