Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in war-hit Ukraine on Friday following a 10-hour journey from Poland aboard the Rail Force One. This visit marks the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine, initiated by an invitation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Upon arrival, PM Modi was welcomed at the station before heading to the Hyatt Hotel for initial engagements, where he was received warmly by the Indian diaspora. Significant moments of the visit include a stop at the multimedia Martyrologist at the Ukraine National Museum, where PM Modi will honor the memory of children lost to the Russian invasion. The museum's exhibition highlights the significant military conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries and underscores Ukrainian resilience.

Later, PM Modi will pay homage to a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at AV Fomin Botanical Garden, which was unveiled in 2020. The visit will then proceed to the Mariinskyi Palace for a meeting with President Zelenskyy. Discussions will cover key bilateral issues, formalized through high-level delegation meetings and document exchanges.

A notable highlight of the visit will be the presentation of the BHISHM Cube, a new mobile hospital designed for disaster management. PM Modi will also interact with Ukrainian students studying Hindi, reflecting the deep cultural and educational connections between the two nations.
