India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the country's unwavering principles and global message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'—the world is one family—while speaking to the Indian diaspora in Washington. He reiterated the necessity of maintaining honesty and dedication both to India and the United States, where many Indians reside and work.

Singh underscored that deceit doesn't align with India's character. "We can be cheated, but we can never cheat others," he told the attendees. He praised India's spiritual ethos and its longstanding message of universal family, noting that such values can only originate from a spiritually rich country like India.

Highlighting the robust India-US relations, Singh stated, "India and the US are destined to be strong partners." He reflected on historical connections and shared destinies, mentioning how Indian and American ties have continually grown stronger over the years. According to Singh, this partnership is pivotal for global peace, prosperity, and stability. He also pointed out India's rapidly improving global perception and stated that today, India's voice is heard more seriously on international platforms.

During his visit, Singh will hold a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and other top officials to enhance the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The Ministry of Defence expects the visit to bolster defence cooperation further, as India and the US seek to address mutual strategic interests.
