In a fervent address at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, former US President Bill Clinton endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the upcoming Presidential election, urging Americans to vote for what he termed as the 'president of joy.' Clinton detailed Harris's life story and accomplishments, emphasizing her ability to lead the country.

'From a man who once had the honor to be called in this convention, a man from Hope, we need Kamala Harris—the president of joy—to lead us...So, I'll be doing my part. You do yours,' Clinton asserted. He further expressed his vision for America to become more inclusive and future-focused under Harris's leadership.

Clinton criticized the current state of political debate and highlighted Harris's work in reproductive rights and affordable housing. He pointed out her experience as vice president in advancing national values and interests globally. Clinton also took aim at Donald Trump, accusing him of self-centered rhetoric.

Praising Harris, he said, 'Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race who has the vision, experience, temperament, and the sheer joy, to get something done.' Clinton mocked Trump's age and self-centeredness, declaring that under Harris, every day would focus on the people.

Clinton stressed that Americans have a 'clear choice' between Harris, who focuses on solving issues and seizing opportunities, and Trump, who prioritizes himself. The convention, under the theme 'For the People, For Our Future,' officially recognized Harris as the Democratic nominee after Biden's withdrawal in favor of her candidacy.

If Trump wins in November, he would become the oldest US president in history, a fact Clinton humorously noted. The former president's speech underscored the stakes of the upcoming election and solidified his unwavering support for Harris.
