Tel Aviv [Israel], August 21 (ANI/TPS): Israel's Ministry of Communications has announced a significant policy shift aimed at reducing barriers for the import of communications equipment. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance market competition and alleviate the cost of living.

Initially, a full commercial and personal import exemption will be applied to four wireless equipment items: video projectors for home or office use, gaming consoles, wireless chargers, and cochlear implant devices for improving hearing. These exemptions will facilitate easier access for both commercials and personal users.

The first three devices benefit from the European standardization (CE) certification, ensuring their compliance with European regulations. Additionally, a baby sensor with a camera (Baby Sense/Monitor) is also exempted from personal importation. The Ministry has published a memorandum aiming to amend wireless telegraph regulations, promoting less regulatory burden and easier importation processes for these items.
