In a freewheeling chat with Tesla and X Chief Elon Musk, former US President Donald Trump on Monday night fiercely criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, who is his opponent in the upcoming November election. Trump accused Harris of being 'further left' and claimed her policies would allow more illegal immigrants into the U.S.

Trump said, 'I think a lot of people thought the Biden administration would be a moderate one, but it's not. With Kamala, it's further left. That's my honest opinion. We don't have a president right now -- and Kamala is even worse. She's a San Francisco liberal who destroyed that city, destroyed California, and will destroy our country if elected.'

The former president accused Harris and the Biden administration of facilitating easy access for illegal immigrants. 'If Kamala gets in, we will have 50-60 million illegals ferried right into our country. The number of illegals Kamala has welcomed into our communities is bigger than we think. Countries are emptying their prisons and sending them here, bringing crime and violence to our backyards,' he claimed.

Trump also accused the Biden administration of wasting their term in office without delivering results. 'We have a defective government. We have millions coming in a month and [Kamala] tries to pretend she's going to do something. They had three and a half years and five months more, but won't achieve anything,' he said.

Discussing the economy, Trump revived his 'Make America Great Again' slogan, claiming the American economy faces disaster under Biden. 'People want the American Dream back. Today, they're using and borrowing money just to live. The economy is a disaster with inflation,' he asserted.

Trump promised to prioritize national safety, emphasizing the need for a U.S.-made Iron Dome to counter nuclear threats, which he claimed was a bigger issue than climate change. 'We're going to build the best Iron Dome in the world, all made in the USA,' Trump declared.

Elon Musk, who publicly supports Trump's presidential bid, said he endorsed Trump because of his focus on critical future issues. 'Safe cities, secure borders, sensible spending, and deregulation are why I'm supporting you,' Musk stated.

Displaying a softer side, Trump claimed not to be a staunch Republican, mentioning his past as a moderate Democrat. 'I stood in line for six hours to shake Obama's hand, so I'm not some dyed-in-the-wool Republican. Historically, I'd call myself a moderate Democrat, but now we're at a critical juncture for the country,' Trump said.

With battle lines drawn, while Trump focuses on immigration, Harris has targeted Trump over his stance on abortion and LGBTQ rights.
