New Delhi: Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Vietnam, underscoring the new phase in the strategic partnership between New Delhi and Hanoi. The invitation was issued during a joint press statement at Hyderabad House in the capital.

Praising Modi's leadership, PM Chinh noted that India's rise as the world's fifth-largest economy has significantly impacted global affairs. He credited Modi and the BJP with improving India's socio-economic standards, citing achievements in electricity coverage, 5G connectivity, and food security.

PM Chinh added that the Indo-Vietnam strategic partnership has entered a deeper phase of trust and effectiveness, aligning with both nations' aspirations for regional and global cooperation. He expressed Vietnam's interest in joining India's Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure and establishing an economic diplomacy dialogue.

The discussions also focused on ensuring peace and stability in the South China Sea, with PM Chinh emphasizing the importance of adhering to international law, particularly UNCLOS 1982. Both leaders agreed to work together to maintain stability and cooperation in the region.

Highlighting India's role in combating Covid-19, Chinh appreciated India's contribution to vaccine and medicine supply, benefitting Vietnam significantly. Both leaders acknowledged the strong bilateral relations and committed to preserving their traditional ties.
