The Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority (SSA) has rolled out a new Marriage Loan initiative, aimed at bolstering the quality of life for families, according to an announcement made on July 23. The initiative, part of the Abu Dhabi Family Wellbeing Strategy and the Emirati Family Growth Programme, will offer interest-free loans of up to AED150,000 to newly married UAE Nationals.

The loan targets eligible Emiratis who are employed and hold an Abu Dhabi family book. It aims to ensure that marriages are built on secure financial foundations, recognizing the intrinsic role stable families play in sustainable community development. Abdulla Al Ameri, Director-General of SSA, highlighted the government's commitment to family cohesion, social bonds, and citizen population growth.

Ahmed Al Azeezi, Executive Director of SSA's Social Support Applications Sector, emphasized that the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen the social care system in Abu Dhabi. The application process, which opens in early September 2024, requires the husband to hold a Family Book, be at least 21 years old, and have a monthly income less than AED60,000. The service is set to be provided through specified channels with full transparency and governance.
