Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a congratulatory phone call from New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on his historic third-term victory in the general elections. During their conversation, both leaders reaffirmed their strong commitment to elevate bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that India-New Zealand relations are grounded in shared democratic values and close people-to-people connections. The leaders expressed their dedication to enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, economic collaboration, animal husbandry, pharmaceuticals, education, and space.
PM Modi, who took the oath of office for his third consecutive term on June 9 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, thanked PM Luxon for safeguarding the interests of the Indian community in New Zealand. He appreciated the momentum generated by high-level contacts between the two nations. Luxon assured continued efforts toward the security and well-being of the Indian diaspora in New Zealand. The two leaders agreed to maintain regular communication.
