Indian Navy's frontline frigate, INS Tabar, arrived in Hamburg, Germany, on Wednesday to participate in a series of naval exercises. The visit includes professional interactions between Indian and German naval crews, tours of the German Naval Academy, and public ship visits. Crew members will also volunteer at an Old Age Home.

Following its departure from Hamburg, the two navies will engage in a Maritime Partnership Exercise at sea. These activities aim to deepen bilateral maritime relations and provide a platform to showcase Indian culture.

India and Germany enjoy a robust relationship grounded in shared values, democratic principles, and a mutual commitment to global peace and security. The partnership spans economic, scientific, cultural, and defence sectors. INS Tabar's visit seeks to strengthen these bonds and explore new avenues for naval collaboration.

INS Tabar, a stealth frigate built in Russia for the Indian Navy, is commanded by Captain MR Harish. Equipped with a versatile array of weapons and sensors, it is one of the earliest stealth frigates in the Indian Navy's Western Fleet, based in Mumbai under the Western Naval Command.
