Doctors Demand Safety: Protests Sweep Tamil Nadu

In a statewide protest, doctors across Tamil Nadu condemned a violent attack on an oncologist, demanding improved safety measures for medical professionals. The protest, backed by the Indian Medical Association, aimed to raise public awareness without disrupting medical services.
State Health Minister Ma Subramanian visited the injured oncologist, Dr. Balaji Jegannathan, who is recovering and plans to continue his service. Balaji was assaulted by a patient's son, frustrated over his mother's treatment for advanced cancer.
The Health Minister announced measures like identity tags for hospital attendants and assured enhanced security following the incident, as police continue to investigate the attacker under multiple charges, including attempted murder.
