PM Modi Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Medical Facilities in Chhattisgarh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a super speciality hospital at CIMS in Chhattisgarh and laid the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy in Raipur. Development projects worth Rs 12,850 crore were launched, and the Ayushman Bharat scheme was extended to senior citizens aged 70 and above.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art super speciality hospital at the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in Bilaspur via virtual conference, underscoring the government's commitment to healthcare development. At the same event, he laid the cornerstone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Raipur.
In a bold stride toward enhancing healthcare, the prime minister announced development initiatives totaling nearly Rs 12,850 crore and extended the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to all senior citizens aged 70 and above. The newly opened 240-bed super speciality unit at CIMS, with cutting-edge technology, cost Rs 200 crore to develop and aims to provide improved healthcare access to surrounding villagers and patients from the Surguja division.
The launch, attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, highlighted the state's multi-faceted development agenda, including education, health, and employment. Meanwhile, State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal emphasized the pivotal role of CRIYN in promoting yoga and naturopathy research, with initiatives expected to deepen understanding and expand educational opportunities in wellness therapy.
