Pharmed Limited, a Bengaluru-based pharmaceutical company, gained a spot in the Asia Book of Records for garnering a remarkable commitment from 4,064 gynaecologists to promote iodine fortification in combating pregnancy-related thyroid disorders.

The commitments were made between September 1 and September 14, 2024, aligning with the celebration of World Iodine Deficiency Disorders Prevention Day. The official award ceremony took place on October 1, 2024, at Pharmed Limited's corporate headquarters.

During the event, Dr. Hema Divakar, a prominent advocate for women's health, emphasized the role of iodine fortification in preventing developmental challenges in newborns, highlighting the initiative's significance in improving maternal and child health across India.
