Swift Compensation for Victims of Gagangir Terror Attack
In the wake of the Gagangir terrorist attack, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed quick financial assistance for the victims' families. Immediate compensation of Rs 15 lakh and additional support measures have been initiated. Victims' families face an emotional and financial battle amid a call for justice.

In response to the tragic Gagangir terrorist attack, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha instructed Chandraker Bharti, J&K's Principal Secretary (Home Department), to expedite financial assistance to the families of civilian victims. He also urged APCO Infratech to swiftly disburse compensation. APCO's officials provided updates on the assistance extended to the bereaved families.
Under SRE guidelines, Rs six lakh will be allotted to each martyred civilian's next of kin, and Rs 15 lakh as an immediate intervention from APCO Infratech. Additionally, an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh is to be offered to all injured victims. The company pledges further support via the Corporate Personal Accident Policy, with compensation equivalent to five years of the employees' gross CTC.
All PRW laborers and third-party workers fall under the workman compensation policy. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized ensuring comprehensive financial aid and other necessary support to the victims' families. While acknowledging the irreplaceable loss, he reiterated efforts for the dignity and welfare of the martyred civilians' families. Addressing concerns in Srinagar, Sinha expected prompt action from J&K Police against the perpetrators, expressing condolences to the mourning families.
