In a significant move to enhance healthcare infrastructure, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has pledged the installation of modern medical machines at Dr. Radha Krishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur. The government is actively working to fill vacancies for doctors and paramedics, and plans on expanding seats in postgraduate courses.
Sukhu highlighted that the new campus, constructed at Jol Sappad near Hamirpur at a cost exceeding Rs 400 crore, would feature cutting-edge technology. The facility will house 292 beds, meeting international standards for patient care and providing an improved environment for the medical staff. Walk-in interviews will streamline the hiring process for medical positions.
The development will also see the deployment of 150 staff nurses, with additional personnel based on necessity. The second phase of construction promises a 300-bed block, a state cancer hospital, and a super specialty and nursing college. These expansions aim to serve both student education and patient health needs.
