This venture is set to dramatically expand the existing 120-bed hospital into a 422-bed teaching institution.
The partnership aims to extend CMC Vellore's acclaimed MBBS educational elements, focusing on Primary-cum-Secondary Health Care to tackle inequalities in India's healthcare sector. CMC Director Dr. Vikram Mathews emphasized the initiative's importance for developing a sustainable model of medical education sensitive to India's diverse needs.
Citing past success, Principal Dr. Solomon Sathishkumar expressed hopes for the new college to become a pivotal national resource in the discipline of Primary-cum-Secondary Health Care, particularly in training general physicians for quality primary and secondary patient care.
